Opening Prayer

Gather as a family or individually. Light your candle one final time for this journey.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord Jesus,
Light revealed to the nations,
as we conclude this week of Epiphany,
deepen our faith and widen our hearts
to grasp the boundless love You have shown us.
Root us firmly in You
so that we may bear fruit for Your Kingdom.
Who live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.

Scripture Reading

Read slowly and prayerfully:

Ephesians 3:14–19 (Paul’s Prayer for the Ephesians)
“…that you, rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

Colossians 2:6–7 (Live in Christ)
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

Reflection

As our Epiphany week comes to a close, we reflect on all that has been revealed: Christ manifested to the Magi, at His baptism, at Cana, and through the beginning of His ministry. Now the invitation is personal: to grow ever deeper in knowing and loving Him.

The light of Epiphany is not meant to fade. Carry it forward into Ordinary Time: let the revelations of this season strengthen your faith, widen your heart, and fill you with God’s fullness.

Questions for Personal or Family Reflection

  1. Looking back over this week, how has Christ’s light been revealed more clearly to me?
  2. In what ways do I feel “rooted and grounded” in God’s love — and where do I need deeper roots?
  3. How can I continue growing in faith throughout the coming year?

Practical Activities for Catholics

  1. Journal Your Epiphany Insights
Spend time writing about what God has shown you this week. Note one revelation, one grace, and one commitment to carry forward.
  2. Thanksgiving Prayer
Go around the family (or pray alone) thanking God specifically for each day’s theme: the Magi, the gifts, the light, baptism, Cana, ministry, and growth.
  3. Sing Together
Sing “Shine, Jesus, Shine” or “How Great Thou Art” as a closing hymn of praise.
  4. Act of Charity
Make a concrete resolution to live out one insight from this week: a new prayer habit, an outreach, or deeper generosity.
  5. Closing Prayer – Prayer for Continued Growth
    Heavenly Father,
You have revealed Your Son to us this Epiphany week.
Root us deeply in His love
that we may comprehend its breadth, length, height, and depth.
    Fill us with Your fullness
and make our lives radiant with Christ’s light.
As this season ends, let its grace continue
until we see You face to face.
    Through Christ our Lord.
Mary, Star of the Sea, pray for us.
All holy saints of Epiphany, pray for us.
    Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
